Ending Loneliness Together joins national Weaving Connections initiative

Launched in July 2026, Weaving Connections is a three-year, $6 million initiative funded by the JO and JR Wicking Trust, managed by Equity Trustees. It brings together organisations from across the social welfare, community and philanthropic sectors to help older Australians experience greater connection, participation and belonging, while also strengthening intergenerational connections.

The initiative recognises that many effective responses to loneliness and social isolation already exist within communities but can be under-resourced, disconnected from one another or overlooked in broader policy and funding approaches.

As part of Weaving Connections, ELT will contribute its expertise in loneliness and social connection, knowledge translation, capacity building and lived experience engagement, while working alongside other participating organisations to strengthen and share what works.

This collaborative approach strongly aligns with ELT’s commitment to building the knowledge, capability and connections needed to create lasting change.
